Melbourne clinical laser, box hill VIC
Melbourne Clinical Laser engaged Studio Grayscale to help them design, document and tender their new Laser Clinic at Box Hill, Central – Melbourne, VIC, AU.
The brief for Melbourne Clinical Laser was to create a beautiful, elegant space with a neutral colour palette. Finishes were to include, marble, white and light grey concrete tones, along with feature lighting, and black highlights.
In terms of space planning – there was to be a generous reception & customer lounge, with even more generous treatment rooms. We worked with the client in detail, continually refining and perfecting the plan layout until the outcome was exactly as desired.
The concept design evolved from the clients preferred inspiration imagery, which lead us to creating a space with curved highlights, combined with neutral tones and finishes. The space was to intentionally feel clean & clinical. With the client being a medical professional, it was only fitting that the space would be reflective of this – allowing the design and the clinical nature of the business to work cohesively together.
Within the space, lighting was also a key factor in the design outcome. Being a laser clinic, we felt it was only fitting that this would feature as part of the fit-out. Black timber trims wrap up from the right-hand side of the store, forming soft curve as it transitions onto the ceiling. This detail then meets with led illuminated profiles, which continue across the ceiling to the opposite side of the store. Custom designed wall lights feature on the rear wall of the reception area, highlighting the feature polished plaster finish on the wall behind.
The curved design details are echoed across the store, including the shopfront – which features a beautiful render texture. The shopfront signage is rear illuminated with an embedded LED’s.
The result of this design collaboration is a store that stands out against the competition in the mall, a store that appears elegant, beautiful, inviting and reassuring.
