NAIL SALON DESIGNS AND INTERIOR FIT OUTS

This article is about providing some helpful tips and techniques to create a quality and impactful interior design for your nail salon.

Let us start with the effective use of your space, if you have the right layout plan, you will be able to utilize your space effectively, making the most of what you have. To maximize your space – ensure you carefully plan the layout that you need, utilize height within the space, avoid overcrowding and cluttering. Consider what services you offer and analyze the correct quantity of equipment you need to have - mani tables, Pedi spa chairs, and treatment rooms.

Customers return because of their experience, and if you can plan out and utilize your space well, you will be able to provide a pleasant interior experience to your clients.

Another vital tip is to ensure that you are smart with your expenses and ensure your salon is designed to be constructed cost-efficiently. Consider the following:

  • Locate plumbing points close to each other (where possible)

  • When you sign a lease, ensure there are multiple in-slab plumbing points available (If you must add in additional in-slab points, this is an extra cost that needs to be factored in. If you can find a site that already has these - it will obviously save you cost)

  • Pedi spa chairs should be installed on a 'step-up / plinth' - this allows for plumbing to be installed under

  • Source joinery off-the-shelf. Where possible, purchase this off-the-shelf, as it will be more cost-effective than having every item constructed from scratch by the shopfitter.

  • We generally recommend a new fit-out is sent out to tender, aiming for x3 shopfitters. This will ensure you are not getting taken advantage of. Shopfitters can also suggest cost-saving ideas when sending their quote.

Choosing the right location is essential. You need to make sure that it is a location with high foot traffic. Aside from the volume of people passing by your area, it is also helpful to research if these are the right people you want to see in your salon. Consider asking yourself, “are they my target market?” if so, then you have selected the right location.

Learn to know your customers. Find out the age bracket, demographic, and interests. Know what they want and what attracts them the most. You can then design your salon to be appealing to them. Design your store to attract attention - you do not want to blend into the background. You want your store to be noticed for the right reasons.

Employ a professional/commercial interior designer. Doing this will give you an edge on those stores that do not. There are many tips & tricks a professional can add to your salon design, that you may not even consider. They can help you avoid costly mistakes, and you can be assured that you will get a design outcome that aligns with your vision.
