Sugar me, southland vic

Sugar Me is a specialised beauty clinic located in Westfield Southland, Australia. 

Being a beauty clinic, we wanted the space to exude a sense of femininity through soft curves, earthy colour tones and finishes. These curved forms are echoed throughout the space, through the walls and graphic treatments, delineation of floor finishes, ceiling feature, and custom joinery including the timber screen and reception counter. 

The reception counter features textural curved detailing, which sweeps around the perimeter of the counter.  Behind the counter, the custom designed timber partition screen is constructed from oak round dowels.

The overall interior design is carefully balanced across the entire space, with curved forms, earthy colour tones and finishes, all working together harmoniously.

Drawing upon our experience and knowledge as interior designers, we were able to completely transform the existing tenancy (previously a bank) into the beauty salon it now is.  As is often a priority for many retailers, we designed the concept in a smart and considered manner, re-using elements where possible, resulting in a more cost effective fit-out for our client.

Elements that were retained from the previous tenancy – all existing walls (with some new ones added in), the existing shopfront including the door closure and glazing (which was reclad to create a completely new look), floor finishes (with some minor alterations), and the ceiling coffer (with some retreatment).

As interior designers, we strongly believe that by designing in a carefully considered manner, not only will there be less wastage, but the fit-out will also be more cost effective.
