Partnering with Forever New on the FN Canberra Centre (along with all other stores we do for them) is always rewarding – and we love seeing the stores come to life. Each project is a reflection of the confidence Forever New places in our ability to understand and extend their brand.
The Canberra Centre presented a unique opportunity to blend elements from Forever New's new concept store with the familiar elegance that defines their aesthetic. Known for its soft, neutral colour palette of whites, creams, and blush pinks, Forever New stores embody femininity and sophistication. But this store introduced new finishes, such as warm wood laminates and elegant marble tiles, adding a modern twist to the familiar ambience. Balancing these new materials with Forever New’s signature style required a nuanced approach to maintain design continuity without compromising their established look.
A particular challenge lay in creating a precise joinery pack to accommodate these new design elements. Developing this pack involved detailed planning to ensure that every component—from display units to fixtures—would align seamlessly with the brand’s signature style.
A structural feature in the store—columns set slightly off the walls—initially appeared to complicate the layout. Yet this quirk became a blessing in disguise, allowing us to incorporate the graceful, curved wall design, a new element from Forever New's concept store. This curved wall design resonated beautifully with Forever New’s aesthetic, adding a sense of flow to the space and making it feel both cohesive and inviting. This design choice not only embraced the structural constraint but transformed it into an architectural feature that enriched the customer experience.
The FN Canberra Centre project ultimately exemplifies the power of a collaborative, flexible approach to retail design. Every challenge provided an opportunity to push Forever New’s aesthetic forward while honouring its roots. As we look ahead to future projects, this ongoing partnership reaffirms the value of adaptability, creativity, and mutual trust in creating innovative, inspiring retail environments that leave a lasting impression.
