Jamaica Blue is an award-winning café franchise and subsidiary of the Foodco Group, with continued growth within the global market. Having partnered with Jamaica Blue since 2015 and holding a deep understanding of their brand requirements and store design concept, we were honoured to be entrusted with their Chadstone location.

This project was particularly exciting, as we were able to bring Jamaica Blue’s new store design to life within Australia’s largest and most iconic shopping centre.

Jamaica Blue’s store design has evolved with the brand’s objectives, appealing to a wider customer base. This has been executed through contemporary colours tones and architectural elements, and the ability to adapt to various formats – from large dine in spaces, to kiosk sites and espresso bars. The internal layout has also been re-invigorated to balance aesthetics with operational efficiency.

The site at Chadstone posed a couple of challenges. Firstly, the store is located beneath an escalator, reducing the height available for brand exposure and putting a heavy reliance on the location of signage. The mall flooring is also ramped in two directions, requiring the entire site to be raised. We worked alongside the client to ensure these site traits did not impact the design’s success and were unnoticeable to the customer’s eye.

When working with national brands like Jamaica Blue, we understand that consistency across the store network is key for brand recognition and precision in the design documentation is also essential. This ensures quality of workmanship and longevity of the fit out.

In most cases, timing is also of the essence, so we ensure that when delivery dates are promised, they are met, and the quality of our documentation is always maintained.
