MADE: HEALTHY, Southern Cross Lane VIC

Made: Healthy is an exciting new food concept focused on providing fresh, vibrant and wholesome meals for people on the go. So, it makes sense that they would launch their brand and very first store in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.

From the outset, it was evident the design needed to reflect the vibrancy of the flavours within. A distinct colour palette is seen across the store design and branding combined. We collaborated with a talented graphic designer to ensure these elements were cohesive in theme and not overpowering.

Upon entry, the customer is greeted with an endless wall of high-quality nutritious meals, snacks and beverages. The overhead category signage not only provides a playful nod to nostalgia; it also ensures quick wayfinding for those in a rush.

Balancing creativity with practicality was no mean feat. The joinery was meticulously detailed to ensure each food offering was both beautifully housed and operationally sound. A smooth self-serve customer flow was essential here.

Another key consideration to the design was daily maintenance for the operator. The equipment requires regular access for re-plenishing supplies and daily cleaning. This means, that each joinery module also consists of removable panels, concealed storage and durable, wipeable materials to suit the high traffic usage.

With its playful curves and vibrant colours, this store has been designed to bring joy to customers’ day and make healthy eating part of their daily routine. Situated on Southern Cross Lane, this store is a standout to the surrounding retailers.
